Back in the Saddle Again
Whew! A whole week off and it feels like it never happened ;->
Mark and I had a great week off. We did a whole lot of nothing - saw Lost in Translation (love, love, loved it!), went out to dinner, stayed home, lit fires - it was awesome! I wish I could say that we went somewhere exotic, like Bora Bora or something, but we stayed close to home...
And, of course, I got some knitting in. I am working on Christmas stuff, so I wont be posting anything in the near future - don't want to give it away. But for you knitters out there, I just finished a project using Rowan Polar in the most beautiful light blue color. I love this yarn!
Our Halloween was pretty fun, although it was raining! I didn't dress up (I know what a buzzkiller), but I had Scott, Nadj, and Natalie over as well as Mark's mom and stepdad. We had awesome pizza from San Remo's in San Carlos and gave candy to about 15 trick-or-treaters. And we lit a big fire. It was cozy and warm and fun.
BTW, here's a photo of my niece Julia on Halloween (yes I know it's fuzzy). She's a little black kitty (or 'titty' as I hear she says). Look how tiny she is!
Apparently she was really into Halloween and when she went to the doors of people's homes, she would give them HER candy. Then when she left the house she would go to the end of their walk and sit down and look at her candy - I guess it took forever. Too cute! I don't get to see her until after Christmas (rats) - but I am making her something special for her to wear. Sorry Amanda (Julia's mom) I'm not telling you what it is!
I can't believe it's already just a few weeks away from Thanksgiving! We are spending it in SF with Mark's dad. It's about the time that we start to decide on our Christmas cards and Christmas gifts. I think it will be a lean year what with the new house and all. But isn't that what the holidays is about? I am making alot of gifts though, not because I am poor, but because I want to (and luckily I can afford to do it in some nice yarns).
I also found something that I am going to make myself:
It's a crocheted rug - don't they look sassy?!? You can find the pattern here. I am using some Classic Elite Weekend Cotton in color 4803. Now I just need to learn to crochet. D'oh!
Well, I am diving into the week feetfirst. Hope everyone has a good one!
