I am at home today waiting for the plumber to come and look at my banging pipes (no innuendo there)...Mark and I are settling in just fine in our new abode. We've met many of the neighbors and now know which ones are nice and which ones are NOT so nice. I'd rather know that NOW instead of LATER. Anyhoo. Things are coming together just fine. The bathroom is basically done - we just need a second coat of paint on some of the walls, some trim painting, and a new threshold (the little thingy on the floor between the hall floor and the bathroom floor). It looks GREAT though. Don't get me wrong - it's still a small bathroom, but the new fixtures and colors make it much bigger (it's amazing what 4 more inches of leg room in front of the toilet will do).

On the work front - still working, but not loving it that much. I think everyone gets into that rut, don't they? I think I am at the point where working is more of a means to an end, not a passion. I also think there is so much still to do in our home that I don't want to be at work at all, especially when I could be at home decorating, organizing, hanging out in my new overpriced real estate ;->. Maybe we'll work on adding another permanent addition to the Peterson family in the near future. That would certainly give me time off work, now wouldn't it? Hee Hee. And no, that isn't why I would try to have a child (although you MUST admit how tempting it is).

On the crafty front, I am back in knitting mode after what seems like a LONG break. I have been doing a little each week, but I finally made significant progress on a new pillow cover over the weekend. The front is done, so now I just need to whiz through the back. The front is ribbed, which takes soooo long to do, but I am doing the back plain st stitch so it should go much quicker. Then I am on to finishing some more patterns for sale. I am shooting for a knitting trade show that takes place in February in Oakland, but I am not sure if I will make it. Lots to do before then! Samples, pattern sheets to layout, bank accounts, visa accounts, etc. Maybe I should focus on the site first and do paypal and checks/money orders first to see if there is even any demand....gotta try though!

The projects for the week include: cutting down the rest of the rose bush in front of the house, painting the bathroom, hanging curtains in the living room and dining room, organizing storage in the hall closet/bathroom, and buying a new vacuum for hardwood floors. Fun! But satisfying nonetheless since we own the place.

One last note: I made a great recipe yesterday from 30 Minute Meals. Mama's Braciola served over egg noodles. Holy crap it was good. Try it today. Seriously.

Toodles! xxoo
